Hi, I'm Arjay!  I'm the founder of HomeRoom, a technology company that provides software & services for community-led businesses, creators, and DAOs. And I'm here to tell you a bit about how we chose Threads over Slack and Discord for our internal team communication.


Or more specifically, I'm going to highlight why Threads is not just a "Slack killer" but the next evolution in team communication today.

The tools we use today weren't built for the teams of today. Most of us are hybrid or remote at this point, and it's crazy to try to run all internal communications through chatrooms. IRC is so 2016, it's time for something better.

The main issues we were facing with existing chat platforms:

Things really started to feel broken when we consistently had trouble onboarding new employees and providing them with historical context on important discussions, when the firehose of overwhelming messages streamed through Slack, and security on Discord continued to be put on the back-burner.
