A bit of context

My name is Mohamed and I'm the founder and CEO of Brevy. We are a marketing tech product that helps companies create landing pages that better convert their visitors into marketing qualified leads. We've been around for just over two and a half years.

Life before Threads

  • Previously, we were always just trying to keep up with Slack. It was a game of going to every channel, scrolling as far back as I could remember, and reading from there. There was no easy way to know what was needed of me at a given time.

  • We had a ton of unnamed group DMs with different permutations of the same people, having no idea what the topic was, which was a huge pain point.

  • Doing everything in chat is a big challenge because you have interwoven conversations within each other; you're discussing something, something else comes up, and it's all just mixed.

The secret to success

The secret to success

  • One of my favorite things about Threads is the fact I have an inbox. When I hit inbox zero, I know I'm done. I no longer feel like I'm constantly missing something.

  • I have a clear list of communications for the day. We're a remote team across the world, so when I wake up knowing I need to respond to people who messaged me during my sleeping hours is really helpful.

  • Threads has become a source of truth for the company, even more so than Notion. We'll link to Notion if they're supporting documents or specs.

A day in the life

A day in the life

  • We have a recurring thread where everyone leaves their updates and that is super helpful. It helps me orient across the whole team to know what people did yesterday and what their plans are for the next day.

  • People will share async demos or walk through something. The ability to highlight a region of the video and leave a comment is incredibly powerful.

  • The GitHub and Height integrations are used daily for pull requests, issue tracking, and all of those various things.

  • Annotating an image / video: This is a highly underrated feature. That level of detail and communication allows us to fully have an asynchronous team

  • User Interface: Threads takes the beauty of an email inbox, the nice UI of Slack, and makes it a pleasure to use.

  • Maximizing time between calls: I'm in calls all day, and if I only have 5-10 minutes between calls, Threads lets me know what requires my attention and I can quickly see that rather than spending time trying to catch up.

With remote work, the office and secondary communication have fully merged into one. You have to rethink and redesign the communication tool from the ground up to become your office. This has made Threads the most important tool we use.

For any team that has remote employees, using Threads as the quarterback to every other product you use, is a must.
